Blogspot & Typepad blogs blocked by all Indian ISPs
Early this morning (7 AM, July 17th) I woke up and checked bloglines to see that Indian bloggers including Dina Mehta were complaining about not being able to reach Blogspot and Typepad hosted blogs. I however was able to get to them! I thought maybe it was an isolated incident and decided to check back in the evening. Even in the evening at 7.30 PM Airtel Chennai was still not blocking any of these blogs.I just got back from dinner with a friend and tried to reach my own blog here with no luck. So Indian ISPs have indeed implemented a blanket ban on *.blogspot.com and *.typepad.com. This is indeed really sad. Apart from the whole free to express yourself on the 'net thing, it sucks that I am actually paying for a service that I can't actually see for myself any longer without resorting to an open proxy!
